XENOTRANSPLANT NATIONAL REGISTRY ADVOCATED BY CDC's CHAPMAN; NATIONAL IRB TO REVIEW XENOTRANSPLANTION RESEARCH PROPOSED BY U. PITTSBURGH's ARNOLD

The establishment of a national xenotransplant patient registry should be considered to effectively monitor possible zoonotic infections, medical epidemiologist Louisa Chapman, MD, Centers for Disease Control & Prevention, said at a June 25-27 Institute of Medicine meeting on "Xenograft Transplantation: Science, Ethics and Public Policy" held in Bethesda, Md. The public meeting was held in preparation for an IoM committee report on xenotransplantation.
