PHILADELPHIA – As electronic health records grow in their adoption and use, and along with them the promise of being able to deliver product information to health care professionals at the point of prescribing, the role of sales reps as distributors of drug information can become marginalized. However, GlaxoSmithKline Inc. still sees a role for sales reps in a digital environment and has restructured their role within the company.
