The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services is hoping that final regulations implementing the Sunshine Act will be out in enough time to allow manufacturers to begin collecting data during 2013 on payments and “transfers of value” to physicians and teaching hospitals, CMS Policy and Data Analysis Group Director Niall Brennan told a congressional roundtable on the issue Sept. 12.
