Big Data Transforming The Role Of Pharma, IBM Analytics Partner Says

Pharmaceutical companies are beginning to leverage big data to become more integrated into health care delivery, looking to care coordination and other “services adjacent to medicines,” IBM’s John Piccone reports.

With the availability of extremely large datasets, particularly real world evidence sets that include claims and electronic health records, the role of the pharmaceutical industry is becoming more closely integrated into the health care landscape through adjunct services that go along with their products, John Piccone, partner in IBM’s business, analytics and optimization group, said.
