With the departure in January of John Taylor from his position as counselor in the Office of the Commissioner, FDA Commissioner Margaret Hamburg will lose a top advisor and stand-in for departing agency officials as she contemplates another reorganization of the agency.
Taylor has been helping to formulate that reorganization as a member of a 10-person Program Alignment Group created by Hamburg in September to develop plans and a timeline for creating a structure within the agency’s directorates, Office of Regulatory Affairs and centers to avoid duplication of function and effort
