S.C. JOHNSON MODIFYING PRINT AD COMPARING OFF! SKINTASTIC TO AVON SKIN-SO-SOFT bath oil in compliance with a June 9 order by the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York. The order grants a preliminary injunction that had been requested by Avon in a May 26 suit against S.C. Johnson ("The Tan Sheet" June 6, p. 16). The ad, which ran in the June 7 issue of Woman's Day magazine, compares S.C. Johnson's Off! Skintastic insect repellent to Skin-So-Soft bath oil, and includes a footnote saying that "Avon Skin-So-Soft...is not EPA registered for use as an insect repellent." S.C. Johnson plans to remove the footnote.
