Counterfeit Colgate-Palmolive toothpaste: Recalled following reports of four cases of mouth irritation, FDA reports in the Oct. 9 Enforcement Report. The product, which Colgate-Palmolive says is counterfeit, is labeled as being manufactured by Colgate-Palmolive, Bombay, India. The products were distributed in California and the U.K. Beverly Hills, Calif.-based International Marketing and Management Services initiated the Class II recall (may cause temporary or medically reversible adverse health consequences) for 743 cases (144 tubes per case) via letter Aug. 21.
