Cardinal making $2.4 bil. move into contract drug manufacturing with R.P. Scherer buy.

SCHERER IS CARDINAL ENTRY INTO CONTRACT MANUFACTURING with the wholesaler's addition of 19 production facilities in 12 countries through the $2.4 bil. acquisition of the drug delivery system developer and contract manufacturer R.P. Scherer announced May 18. The agreement will significantly expand Cardinal Health's fledgling contract manufacturing business developed through its PCI and National PharmPak repackaging operations.
