NFL supplement suspension

Chicago Bears quarterback Jim Miller claims he inadvertently ingested the steroid nandrolone by taking a dietary supplement without reading the product label; he was suspended four games for testing positive for the substance Nov. 29, costing him roughly $100,000. Miller claims the supplement, which he would not name, was not the product he normally uses, but that he was taking it while waiting for another product to go on sale. Miller took the supplement to help recover from workouts. Other substances prohibited by the league include androstenedione, manufactured by numerous companies including Met-Rx. Major League Baseball is currently sponsoring a study of andro, which was made popular by its use by home run slugger Mark McGwire, to determine whether to ban the ingredient
