N-9 Study Results Lead CDC To Reevaluate HIV Prevention Guidelines

U.S. HIV prevention guidelines must be reexamined in light of recent findings from a UNAIDS study on the efficacy of nonoxynol-9 in preventing transmission of the virus, CDC National Center for HIV, STD & Tuberculosis Prevention Director Helene Gayle, MD, states in an Aug. 4 "Dear Colleague" letter.
