Rx Antihistamines Equally Efficacious, Safer Than OTCs - Blue Cross

Data show that second-generation, low- and non-sedating antihistamines such as cetirizine (Pfizer's Zyrtec), loratadine (Schering-Plough's Claritin) and fexofenadine (Aventis' Allegra) are equally efficacious and less toxic than first-generation OTC antihistamines, according to an evidence report filed with FDA.
