The US FDA’s latest direct-to-consumer prescription drug advertising research project could lead to the creation of a program to encourage consumers to report deceptive promotions to the agency.

FDA announced the research project, “Consumer and Healthcare Professional Identification of and Responses to Deceptive Prescription Drug Promotion,” in a Federal Register notice scheduled for publication Jan. 4
