An 18-year-old teenager has petitioned an Indian court for access to bedaquiline to treat her extremely drug-resistant form of tuberculosis, her fight highlighting what critics say is India’s “delayed” rollout of the potentially life-saving medicine.

The patient’s father, who filed the case in the Delhi High Court in early January, is asking the government to loosen its tight curbs on the use of bedaquiline, which has the trade name Sirturo and is made by Janssen Pharmaceutical Cos
