Upcoming proposed rule on Medicare Part D and Medicare Advantage prompts speculation about whether CMS is planning new measures to control spending on prescription drugs.

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services is planning to issue a proposed rule offering policy and technical changes in the Medicare Part D and Medicare Advantage programs for 2019 that could serve as a vehicle for actions aimed at lowering prescription drug costs.
