The US pharmaceutical industry is lagging in implementing the second piece of the FDA’s Drug Supply Chain Security Act, the requirement to serialize product packages, by a Nov. 27 compliance deadline, a recent survey shows.
Ninety-two percent of survey respondents said they will have begun serializing packages by then, including 71% that already had begun distributing serialized product when they were surveyed.
