Opioid Prescribing Guidelines: Public-Private Partnership Is Tackling Scope, Consequences

A new public-private partnership of more than 55 organizations is comparing existing opioid prescribing and tapering guidelines to identify unjustifiable differences as well as monitoring their intended and unintended consequences.

The group, called the Action Collaborative on Countering the US Opioid Epidemic, was convened by the National Academy of Medicine (NAM) to develop and disseminate solutions to reduce opioid misuse and improve outcomes
