Acyclovir Availability In US May Be Affected By India Export Restrictions

USP data suggest that the US supply of acyclovir, which is used to treat herpes zoster, genital herpes and chickenpox, may be vulnerable if the Indian government further tightens exports of the product.

India's restriction, which covers 26 active pharmaceutical ingredients and finished dosage forms (13 products total), was implemented more than a week ago to protect its inventories as the coronavirus
