A package of health proposals intended to build up the EU’s resilience to health threats while strengthening the competitiveness of Europe’s pharmaceutical industry and ensuring access to affordable drugs takes a major step through the legislative process this week.

The European Commission’s pharmaceutical strategy, which is intended to modernize the EU medicines legislative framework and improve access to affordable medicines, will be discussed by EU health ministers on 2 December, alongside proposals for building a “European Health Union” and progress with the draft regulation on health technology assessment.
