Would Biden’s ‘Advanced Research’ Projects Mesh Well At NIH?

The Biden Administration’s proposed Advanced Research Projects Agency for Health (ARPA-H) has the potential to “duplicate” ongoing translational research elsewhere in the National Institutes of Health, Rep. Andy Harris, R-MD, suggested during a House Appropriations hearing on the Department of Health and Human Services budget on 15 April.

“I want to know what your vision is for ARPA-H,” Harris asked HHS Secretary Xavier Becerra. “If it’s a vision of merely doing advanced translation research, then the National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences should have done that. We already have the ability within NIH to do that
