CDC Panel Stops Shy Of Universal Adult Hepatitis B Vaccine Recommendation

A multi-year effort to move away from a risk-based recommendation for hepatitis B vaccination culminated in a unanimous vote of the CDC’s Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices for a recommendation that urges vaccination for adults under age 60, rather than the universal proposal set forth by the committee’s Hepatitis Work Group.

The final proposal reflected an earlier – and closer – vote on a recommendation with an age ceiling over the universal
