The Federal Trade Commission is planning to vote on whether to issue an advance notice of proposed rulemaking to initiate a regulation addressing fake product reviews and other endorsements at an open meeting on 20 October. The ANPR would request comment on the prevalence of fake and deceptive reviews and the consumer harms arising from them, among other questions.
