No Novel Pathogens Detected

Since October, reported cases of infectious respiratory diseases have been rising in China, prompting an information request from the WHO. However, no new types of pathogen or unusual clinical symptoms have been detected so far.

China’s National Health Commission (NHC) has said recent rapid increases in cases of pneumonia and other infectious diseases, including influenza and adenovirus, in the country could be linked to weakened public immunity from three years of strict COVID-19 restrictions.
