WHO Urges Countries To Curb Spread Of Mpox With Vaccines, Therapeutics & Other Actions

The WHO’s emergency committee has warned of a lack of understanding of the epidemiology of mpox, the limited availability of vaccines, and the complexities of donations and procurement.

Having declared mpox a public health emergency of international concern (PHEIC), the World Health Organization has called on countries to take steps to make mpox vaccines available for primary prevention and post-exposure vaccination for people at most risk of contracting the disease.
