Council names new prez and CEO
Personal Care Products Council appoints Lezlee Westine as its new president and CEO. Westine is currently president and CEO of TechNet, a bipartisan, political network of technology industry leaders that advocates for growth of the "innovation economy." In this role she oversees day-to-day operations and directs strategic planning, development and implementation of the group's public policy and political goals. From 2001 to 2005, Westine was White House Director of Public Liaison to trade, advocacy and constituency groups and directed the administration's outreach efforts to women. "Westine is an extraordinary leader and, without a doubt, one of America's most prominent champions of innovation," says Council Board Chairman Dan Brestle. "Her association and bipartisan political experience position her as the ideal leader and a natural fit for the cosmetic and personal-care products industry." The Council has been without permanent leadership since the departure of Pam Bailey in December to lead the Grocery Manufacturers Association (1"The Rose Sheet" Dec. 15, 2008, p. 3). Attorney and Executive VP-Strategic Initiatives Mark Pollak has been holding down the fort on an interim basis
