Mibelle Biochemistry: Swiss firm launches new plant stem-cell active PhytoCellTec Alp Rose, derived from alpine roses that grow in extreme conditions - in the snow at altitudes between 2,000 and 3,200 meters - which forces the roses to adapt to cold and ultraviolet exposure. Alp Rose contains stem cells extracted from the rose's leaves, which it says "increase[s] the vitality of skin stem cells" and "helps our skin to cope with [its] compromised barrier because of age and environmental factors." Such environmental factors include temperature changes and UV radiation, Mibelle's Product Manager Elodie Mauger noted at the recent in-cosmetics exhibition in Paris. Mibelle's PhytoCellTech Malus Domestica, a similar active featuring "long-living" stem cells from a rare Swiss apple, is featured in Emerge Labs' Swiss Apple Stem Cell Serum (1"The Rose Sheet" Sept. 29, 2008).
