Exiting PCPC Science Chief Reflects On Role In Trying Climate

The Personal Care Products Council’s Halyna Breslawec is retiring from her position as the trade group’s chief scientist. In an interview with “The Rose Sheet,” she discusses maintaining focus on sound science during a challenging time for the industry.

The challenge of distilling science into a sound bite or 140-character tweet has rendered the personal-care industry susceptible to unwarranted criticism and pressure to dispense with ingredients that could be used safely, according to Halyna Breslawec, the Personal Care Products Council’s executive vice president of science, who will retire from her role at the trade group April 30.
