Honest Company To Launch Color Cosmetics On Back Of $100 Mil. Financing

Firm's SPF 30 sunscreen lotion, denounced by consumers for alleged ineffectiveness at preventing sunburn, remains out of stock, but The Honest Company is looking ahead to a planned foray into color cosmetics, armed with $100 million in new funding.

A storm of obloquy from sunburned customers earlier this summer evidently has not deterred investors in The Honest Company, which plans to use capital from a $100 million financing round to launch a color-cosmetics line, as well as new skin- and hair-care items.
