Danish EPA Finds Cosmetic Preservatives Safe 'Overall,' With Some Caveats

The Environmental Protection Agency in Denmark, a EU member state that has made a priority of preservative safety in recent years, says phenoxyethanol, two formaldehyde releasers and two other preservatives found in marketed personal-care items generally are safe in products used on their own daily or collectively as a full routine. However, the agency cannot rule out allergy risks in all cases, it says.
