FDA Has Eye On 'Non-Traditional Preservative' Use, Updates Internal Guide

Growing use of "non-traditional preservative systems" has FDA's attention, and the agency is advising its inspectors and other compliance personnel to prioritize products labeled as "natural" and "no preservatives" in their sampling and analysis work. The agency's newly updated Cosmetics Compliance Program provides insight into areas of increasing focus for FDA officials.
