Fragrance-Disclosure Pressures Will Remain Under EU Trade-Secret Directive

The International Fragrance Association emphasized in 2013 that the EU's proposed trade-secrets directive would not "encourage secrecy" or prevent interested parties from accessing safety information. Indeed, the instrument now nearing the finish line would not stand in the way of regulatory initiatives or certain other activities in the public interest aimed at requiring disclosure of trade secrets such as fragrance formulae.
