Cultivating Cannabinoid Safety Data In US: Principles, Projects And Problems

FDA offers guiding principles for research on cannabinoids’ use in food, supplements and lotions and other personal care products. It also identifies challenges to studies that generate robust data about use of the ingredients.

The US Food and Drug Administration’s grocery list includes more and better data on using cannabinoids in non-drug products, and it’s providing instructions on where and how to get the goods.

The agency on 8 January, in a statement by Commissioner Stephen Hahn and Principal Deputy Commissioner Amy Abernethy (see related story), offered a list of guiding principles for research projects on cannabinoids’ use in food, dietary supplements and lotions and other personal care product
