US sales of dietary supplements and other non-drug products containing hemp-derived cannabidiol were estimated at $535m the year before hemp was made legal, grew to $845m the next year and have continued accelerating.
The total would be larger still, though, if the legislation de-scheduling hemp as a controlled substance didn’t hobble supplement firms.
