French Authority Asks For More Data On Turmeric Supplements After Hepatitis Cases Reported

Following reports of side-effects linked to turmeric supplement use in France and Italy, the former's Agency for Food, Environmental and Occupational Health & Safety (ANSES) is asking manufacturers selling turmeric supplements in the country to provide additional bioavailability data. ANSES is concerned that new formulations are pushing consumers over the recommended daily intake limit set by the European Food Safety Authority.
