Avanir appoints William Sibold chief commercial officer

Avanir Pharmaceuticals has named William Sibold senior vice-president and chief commercial officer. He has more than 20 years' experience in the biopharmaceutical industry, having served as senior vice-president, US commercial, at Biogen Idec, where he was responsible for commercial activities across the neurology, oncology and rheumatology US businesses. Mr Sibold, who has also worked at Lilly and Amgen, was most recently president and CEO of Lycera.
