France is next in Merck KGaA's drip drip approach to job cuts

Merck KGaA is planning to cut 267 pharma jobs in France as part of its efficiency drive announced earlier this year. The company has announced its intention to reduce its 1,270-strong workforce at Lyon-based Merck Serono France and says it intends to favour voluntary departures to limit dismissals. It will offer an early retirement plan as well as a scheme to support professional projects, it declared.
