Roche Diagnostics To Expand Genomics Investments In Japan
At an interview with Yakuji News, Director of Applied Science of Tokyo-based Roche Diagnostics Japan Nobu Ogasawara said the company would be focusing investment on the rapidly growing genomics and cell engineering market. He estimated ¥10 billion ($92.8 million) revenue in five years. Last year Roche bought American companies Nimblegen Systems, 454 Lifesciences and Ventana, enhancing its products lineup in microarray, sequencer and RT-PCR area, and signed an exclusive licensing agreement on cell analytic technology with ACEA Bioscience.
