Gunther Winkler, Biogen Idec's Senior Vice President, International Business, is responsible for expanding the company's Asia operations. Winkler, a close watcher of biosimilars regulations being adapted by various countries, is skeptical about the safety of copied biotech drugs and therefore calls for sufficient caution on the approval mechanism for such drugs.
