Toshiba Medical Systems and Elekta AB of Sweden have filed for approval to market their jointly developed combination of computed tomography and radiation to treat cancer. Toshiba Medical, a unit of Toshiba Corp., and Elekta said their system allows for diagnosis with a CT scan that can be followed immediately in the same machine by radiation therapy if needed.
