Activating Genes--The Flip Side of RNAi?

RNA constructs like those used in RNAi to silence genes can also target chromosomal DNA, resulting in gene inhibition or in some cases, increased gene expression. This observation promises to extend the range of applications for small RNA molecules in targeted gene regulation.
