Antibodies Evolve

César Milstein was recognized with the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine in 1984, along with Georges Köhler, a postdoctoral fellow in his lab, for developing the hybridoma technique for producing monoclonal antibodies. Their discovery launched a new era of science and medicine in which the immune systems of man and beast can sometimes be harnessed for healing.
