Seventure Reaffirms Microbiome Confidence With New €200m Fund

With its first microbiome fund completing its investment period, French venture capitalist Seventure Partners has raised more than €100m of a €200m target for its second microbiome-focused fund.

Seventure Partners is doubling down in the microbiome space with a new €200m fund Health for Life Capital II (HFL II). With 90% of limited partners from the first fund returning to back the new fund, the French VC has been able to announce a first closing north of €100m. Moreover, it has already started putting the new money to work participating in the $25m series B round completed by Axial Biotech Inc. and the Galecto Biotech AB €79m series C round.

“The microbiome field has gained such momentum since we raised HFL I four years ago that a few new LPs spontaneously contacted me and asked whether we would raise a new fund and said they were interested to join in fund two,”
