Shionogi Builds Digital Therapeutics Presence Through Akili Alliance

Shionogi has become the latest Japanese company to build its presence in the digital health realm, this time through an alliance with Akili for two novel digital therapeutics.

Joining several of its peers taking steps into the digital health realm, major Japanese pharma firm Shionogi & Co. Ltd. has entered into a strategic partnership with US venture Akili Interactive Labs Inc. for the commercialization in Japan and Taiwan of two of Akili’s investigational digital medicine product candidates, AKL-T01 and AKL-T02.

The digital treatments, both intended for prescription by physicians, are delivered through immersive action video game
