Part of the fallout from the coronavirus outbreak could be drug shortages caused by active pharmaceutical ingredient manufacturing disruptions in China and other regions. Supply appears stable for now, but shortages could become an issue late in the second quarter or early third quarter if manufacturing disruptions continue longer term, Bernstein Research analyst Ronny Gal concluded in a 26 February research report.
