venBio Raises $550m To Help Build 12-15 Companies

Private Company Edition: venBio’s new fund plus Ysios Capital’s recent €216m ($260m) fund adds up to $810m in fresh venture capital for life science companies. Also, Nikang and Esco attracted $200m each in VC investment, Pulmocide closed a $92m series C round and Stablix launched with $63m.

Venture capital firms focused on biopharmaceutical companies raised $810m across two new funds during the past two weeks, including $550m for venBio and Ysios Capital’s recently closed €216m ($260m) fund. Both firms are focused on early stage investments as well as companies in growth mode.
