Flagship Pioneering has more than doubled the funding it has raised since 2021 and will direct it toward building more than a dozen companies across human health, artificial intelligence and sustainability. The plan will underscore the venture capital firm’s therapeutic area-agnostic approach and cross-pollination across the three areas.
The Cambridge, MA-based firm said 10 July that it raised $3.6bn in new funding, including $2.6bn for Fund VIII and side funds worth $1bn that include sector-specific strategic partnerships, with plans to invest that in about 25 companies
