Abbott is celebrating the opening of its new manufacturing facility in Ireland for diabetes care.

Two years after Abbott first announced plans to invest €440m ($463m) across two manufacturing plants in Ireland, the medtech giant is celebrating the opening of its new global manufacturing site for diabetes care in Kilkenny.

The 30,000-square-meter Kilkenny facility will employ more than 800 people and produce FreeStyle Libre 3 sensors, the latest generation of Abbott’s continuous glucose monitoring portfolio for people living with diabetes....
