Trump’s Tariff Rollercoaster Keeps Pharma On Edge

The rollout of Trump’s tariff plan has been a policy whiplash, but despite a 90-day pause on tariffs, it appears the US president is still holding a grudge with industry over drug pricing.

US President Donald Trump continued his suggestions that pharmaceutical tariffs are imminent at a Republican National Committee dinner on 8 April, but the next afternoon he announced a 90-day pause for most tariffs outside those in China and lowered tariffs to 10% in most countries. His comments indicated that pharma has more to worry about from the administration, however.
