A ‘biosimilar education grant’ of A$5 million (US$3.8 million) has been awarded by Australia’s government to the country’s Generic and Biosimilar Medicines Association (GBMA) to “complement and extend” activities being undertaken as part of the country’s biosimilar awareness initiative.
The grant – which will be paid in four instalments and runs until December 2020 – is intended to help bolster awareness among healthcare professionals and consumers; build understanding of biosimilars and their development and approval processes; share current evidence with professionals, healthcare providers and consumers, including through dedicated electronic and print materials;
