Medicines for Europe has urged the European Commission to exempt pharmaceutical suppliers, particularly those of biologic and antibiotic medicines, from any perspective energy rationing in the region, in line with new public guidelines.

Following the release of the European Commission’s Guidelines on a European Gas Demand Reduction Plan, Medicines for Europe has urged European governments to maintain energy supply to medicines production sites in the event of gas and electricity restrictions throughout the region.
