Amid triple-digit-percentage average price rises for several generic molecules in the UK during June 2023, pantoprazole topped the list.

June brought multiple triple-digit-percentage average trade price rises for generics in the UK, with a number of products more than doubling or even trebling in price, according to figures from market researcher WaveData based on trade prices to independent pharmacists.

Chief among these was pantoprazole, the 40mg tablet presentation of which saw its average trade price leap by 240% to £4.90 (£6.36) for 28 tablets, prompting a £9
